InitiativesTolerable Risk GuidelinesInternational Contributions to Workshop Exploring Tolerable Risk Guidelines for Levee Systems. The Corps of Engineers hosted key international experts at a March 17-18, 2010 workshop in Alexandria, Virginia, to explore the application and use of tolerable risk guidelines for levee systems. International participants hailed from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Spain. They provided information on tolerable risk concepts and principles, insight into approaches to apply those concepts in other countries, and international perspectives for the Corps to consider along with national perspectives from key partners as it considers next steps in the development of tolerable risk guidelines for levee systems. Information from the workshop is available at www.nfrmp.us/TRG2010. The report of the proceedings is available for download. Exploration of Tolerable Risk
